Before purchasing a lot, make sure you are able to build on the lot. In order to do this, please verify the following information by contacting the offices listed below.

Steps of Building
STEP ONE
Contact the Wood Conuty Planning Commission to obtain parcel information, flood plain designation, and street address.
STEP TWO:
Contact the Wood County Engineer's Office to gain access to your lot by obtaining a Driveway and Culvert Permit.
A drainage analysis is completed for all new and replacement culverts.
STEP THREE
Obtain Zoning Permit from your Local Township or Municipality.
STEP FOUR
Secure Water and Sewer Permits. Depending on the location of the lot, contact the Wood County Health Department to apply for well and septic permits, or contact the Northwestern Water and Sewer District to tap into existing water and sewer lines.
STEP FIVE
Bring it all together
To secure necessary permits for construction, the following items must be presented to the Wood County Building Inspection Department. Two sets of plans and copies of your Zoning, Sewer, Culvert, and Flood Plain Permits
